Garbage and RecyclablesEach residence is provided with a garbage can. You are responsible for the care and maintenance of the can. Garbage is picked up every Monday. Just a few reminders:
Leave room around the can for the automated arms to clasp the can. Don't place the can next to cars, trees, or mailbox. Loose garbage may blow away. Place all garbage in bags before placing in can. You must use the designated can and you must place the bags inside the can.
If the cans are overfilled, some garbage may fall during dumping. The driver will NOT pick up garbage from the ground. Do not put grass, leaves, or any type of yard waste in the can. Special yard waste are available at City Hall for $1.00 each.
Large items such as Tv's furniture, extra garbage, etc, will be picked up twice a year - you will be notified of the dates.
Recyclables are picked up every other Friday. Recycle bins are available at City Hall for $3.00 each (Lides are available for $2.00)
Newspaper, office paper and computer paper should be placed together in a paper bag, or tied in a bundle with a string.
Corrugated cardboard, cereal and detergent boxes, newspapers, office paper, magazines and phone books are accepted. Flatten and bundle together.
Tin and aluminum cans should be rinsed and labels removed. Place lid inside and pinch top of the can to trap the lid.
#1, #2, and #5 plastics are accepted. Remove lid, rinse well.
